Guidelines for Temps
As a BiblioTemp, we count on you to be punctual, efficient and professional. Before you are hired, BiblioTemps will:
- Interview you
- Conduct a CORI check
- Provide a brief orientation.
When you are hired, you are an at-will employee of BiblioTemps,
and will:
- Report to your assigned site manager.
- Follow site’s written rules.
- Contact BiblioTemps regarding any complaint about the work site, such as work conditions, harassment, or discrimination.
How it works:
- Your placement begins with a request for personnel from the employing site.
- BiblioTemps matches your skills and abilities to a request and provides the employer with applications to review. If you are selected, you will receive a call.
- If you are unable to accept the placement another Temp will be contacted and your name will stay in our pool.
- You may be asked to visit the site for an interview.
- You submit bi-weekly timesheets signed by your site supervisor.
- BiblioTemps pays social security and unemployment taxes and insurance.
- Your security is important, and our contract with your site requires that as a BiblioTemp you will never be required to work alone in a building.
- Your employment ends if:
- You and site manager are not mutually satisfied with the fit.
- Your plans change and you give us notice.
- Your placement is terminated for cause.
